Additional disks D 220

Hello,

for testing purposes i wanted to setup an old D220 server. I wanted to add addtional disks in the three free slots but the disks weren't recognized.
I found some information inside the server's door concerning internal devices
There must be a possiblity to switch to a diffrent type of SCSI Bus ( HOT plug option F/W Diff SCSI). Switching to this SCSI type maybe let the system recognize the disks.
Where can i configure this.
Anybody an idea ?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

Uli

If I remeber correctly, D220 supports only 2 internal disks.
Though you could see the slots, it all disabled!!

Re: Additional disks D 220

Hi,

if you have a D220 with hot pluggable disk, it will only support 2 internal disks. (If you look at the connectors inside, you will see no pins on the bottom 3 bays.
Only the D3xx supports 5 internal disks.

You can use an external SCSI cable to connect to a disk cabinet or external disks.

good luck,
Thierry.
All unix flavours are exactly the same . . . . . . . . . . for end users anyway.

Hi Thierry,

you are right. I have hot pluggable disks and no connectors in the bottom slots. So ten points for you and 5 for Thayanidhi.
Thanks a lot.
