Amber lights

I have noticed amber lights and attention lights blinking on my RPXXX boxes. How do i clear them? we have an audit going on and they want all the boxes to be clean (without flashing amber etc). I beleive it gets cleared once the chassis logs are viewed. how do we view from console? Also, are they any other isead to clear them, please let me know..

Thanks

Joe

Joe,
on console:

Select SL
Select E (to check the logs)
Select Q (quit)
Select X (Exit)
co to return to console mode

Still worth investigating what the problem is!

Hi jo
Peter is correct .If you have a seprate, management lan i.e a seprate GSP ip ,you can also telnet and see the logs..But care that it will only remove your attention light.

Re: Amber lights

Hi,

a blinking amber light means, the GSP/MP/ILO needs your attention.
Because you didn't tell us your type of machine, the procedure to read the logs may slightly differ.
Logon to your service processor (serial or via LAN) and look for something like system logs (SL/SEL).
Perhaps the message is regarding a hardware problem - don't ignore it.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Amber lights

Hi Joe,

Yep even i agree with Peter, amber indication & attention LED means there is some serious issue with the server, would recommend you to get intouch with HP Solution Center at the earliest.

To view MP logs..

MP:>SL ==> select e and then select d for dumping on the screen.

NOTE: Ensure to enable capture before running these commands. If possible attach them on this thread..

Best Regards,
