We just heard within the last few months here at my company, that HP Does not support L-2000 and N-4000 (Rev A and B) Servers with 2GB HBA (A6795A) add-ons after Apr 2, 2003. Does anyone know if there are any alternatives to achieving 2GB on a Fiber HBA for these servers other than the (A6795A)?? Is there any other type of HBA that can be put in and work without the issues the (A6795A) has had?
Thanks,
-Ken

Re: Any alternatives to 2GB (6795A) card for L and N Class
I can hardly believe that it would not be supported. Suggest you double check that.
Alternatives are the two port cards

Bernhard

They put this in writing so I have to believe it's true.

Re: Any alternatives to 2GB (6795A) card for L and N Class
You are correct. HP recommends using the A5158A 1gb FC card which is hardly compatible. I have built up several boxes with these cards and have run into some problems. It turns out that if you use more than 1 A6795A you can run into poroblems. I have been able to get around that by moving the cards around.
Not sure why HP still has this card on the product offering list?

L-2000 upon installing a driver that it uses. Looks like this might be an alternative for us.
Thanks everyone for your help....

A5158A is compatible with L-2000,
But don't know about N-4000
Thanx

Could you direct me to a reference to problems using more that one A6795A, as I have two each of these in a L1000 & L3000 and am suffering problems.
Thanks

SolutionTim
AR5158A is a 1 GB card that is a card we also use in a V-Class. It would probably work, 1/2 as fast...
