Any way to capture GSP output of "sysrev" command ?

I can run the "sysrev" command from the gsp cm: prompt and get all kinds on wonderfull information. We'd like to include it in the various types of system information/files that we regularly back up for documentation puroses. I'm guessing since sysrev reports on hardware, there isn't a unix software command equivalent. Anyone know of a way to automagically capture the "gsp cm:sysrev" output in a unix flat file ?

depending on the system, a laptop or a lanconsole would allow you to cut and paste.

stm and xstm also provides a lot of info!

Re: Any way to capture GSP output of "sysrev" command ?

Hi Jay,

What I would do is access the GSP from an HP-UX workstation and run the script command just prior to telnetting to the LAN console to capture the output to a file.
You can them trim the unnecessary stuff like the actual telnet responses & the menu traversal of the GSP.

Hi,

Even if you telnet to GSP/MP IP from a windows workstation using hyper terminal you can easily start capturing text prior to start running this command. After execution you can stop capturing. This results in txt file containing required information fully formatted.

This is how we capture errors appearing in booting OSs.

On top of what others mentioned - as far as data gathering, look at print_manifest

Or cfg2html

Or sysinfo301

Re: Any way to capture GSP output of "sysrev" command ?

I have used cstm <sel dev #
map
info
il
EOF

But I question whether this is all the info from sysrev??? As I am not seeing some info such as cell revisions.

Re: Any way to capture GSP output of "sysrev" command ?

hi,

what about #pdcinfo

Does that tell what you need?

either or select system in cstm and run info and infolog tool
echo "selclass qualifier system;info;wait;infolog" ¦ cstm > /tmp/systeminfo.txt

either that or copy and paste the text, or add to the script to log into gsp and run the command for you.

The nickel script is also a good tool to run for all system info
