Attention Light flashing on L3000

I have checked dmesg and have done hardware scan on the server. I do not have console login. What else can i do in addition to that? Attached is the o/p of dmesg and mstm.

Re: Attention Light flashing on L3000

Shalom,

Log into console

ctrl-b

sl
# stands for show logs.

Enter through them and magically the attention light will stop flashing. There is often a delay of a few seconds.

The attention the system wants is for you to read the logs.

Generally you will see non-serious things in there with an attention light.

A red fault light must be dealt with immediately.

Re: Attention Light flashing on L3000

Not very much.

To find out why the Attention Light is flashing, you need to access the GSP.
Accessing the GSP requires some sort of console access: either local, remote (modem) or network.

You would have to connect to the console, then press Ctrl-B to access the GSP commands, then type SL to view the hardware-level System Log. If there are no active problems, using the SL command will also switch off the Attention Light.

Logging in to the operating system is *not* necessary to access the GSP.

There are many conditions that cause the Attention Light to blink. Some common examples:
- the server has crashed and then rebooted successfully
- power to one or more of the system's PSU modules was interrupted
- one of the server's fans is not rotating with sufficient RPM

Repeat: fixing the error condition does _not_ switch off the Attention Light. It will keep blinking until someone reads the GSP error log.

Re: Attention Light flashing on L3000

u need to go MP/GSP login and read the log. that will off ATTN led. ATTN led flashing happen when some error occures, like Temp or power etc.
read MP Admin Guide

Re: Attention Light flashing on L3000

You do not have the console login but I guess you still have the console connected. So what you can do is login to the GSP by pressing Ctrl-B. Once you got the Service Processor Login, try using the login = Admin and password = Admin. If it works, read the error log by typing SL :

GSP> SL

Chassis Logs available:
(A)ctivity Log
(E)rror Log
(L)ive Chassis Logs
(C)lear All Chassis Logs
(Q)uit

Select 'E' for error logs.

Re: Attention Light flashing on L3000

Connect using the console or GSP port. at the GSP prompt just type SL this will show the console logging. You can pich the event logs. the the event is 4 or higher the you may have a problem. You also have a chose to clear the event logs.
