Auto shutdown

One of server which brand is HP9000Model:rp2470.When we boot the server it run ok but after a few times it displays"fan failure detect , auto shutdown. It is in live production . Pls help me about this regards

To prevent damage due to overtemp the server shuts down.
Connect to the GSP and check the status of the fans.

GSP> ps

You will probably have a fan that is sometimes running and sometimes hang.

The GSP log have all details you need what fan is causing this.

Ask the HP support to solve your problem.

Thanks for your reply.I don't find any error by PS from GSP. But the problem has not been solved yet.This server is live production .In this moment what your suggestion about this regards.

Which firmware releare do you use?

It seems like one of the fan on ur box is failed, can you attach the GSP logs..

On a A class server there is a known issue of fan failures for which you may have to install a smart fan controller (p/n A6889-62005) for each CPU. This could be confirmed only after analysing the logs..

hi,

post the last few logs from the gsp for errors and then we can try and see which fan is failing. there are not many fans in the rp2470 only power supply fans and cpu and it will need replacing whichever it is.

check the ems messages aswell for indication of fan failure
