Boot RP5430 server

If there is power going to the server, but the system is off, can I boot the server using the GSP?

If not can I use remote/network boot, through the LAN, to start the system.

Thanks.

Re: Boot RP5430 server

This will work only when Hard switch is in ON condition then u can turn it ON/OFF remotely using PE.

Re: Boot RP5430 server

On the rp5430, the power switch must be on to toggle power in the GSP.

in the gsp, the command is PC.

Re: Boot RP5430 server

Thanks for your comments.

It appears that if the power switch is off there is nothing much that can be done to boot the system other than physically turning the switch on.

What is interesting is that we have a number of other HP servers, about 6 ProLiant GL rack-mounted servers, that can be remotely booted across the network.

I thought the same could be accomplished with the RP5430 server.

Thanks.

Re: Boot RP5430 server

The key for this server is to leave the power button on, then you can control power with the PC command.
