Boot problem with RP8400 after shutdown

Hi,

After a power shutdown one of the RP8400 never came back online. It has 2 hard partitions with 2 cells each.

VFP of both the partitions shows that they are in error state,

PARTITION STATUS: E indicates error since last boot
Partition 0 state Activity
------------------ --------
Partition Booting: 118 Logs

# Cell state Activity
- ---------- --------
E 0 Starting Cell firmware 79 Logs
E 2 Starting Cell firmware 36 Logs

---------------------------

I tried powering off/on the entire cabinet, remove RPS, cell boards put them back .. but nothing works ...:-(

pl. help

I think it's time to call in the cavalry. Sounds like a dead cell board.

Re: Boot problem with RP8400 after shutdown

Does console logs/chassis logs show some useful info?

Re: Boot problem with RP8400 after shutdown

Hello,
for troubleshoot your problem a complete picture is necessary. Your vfp - output is from one partition only and in this partition you have cell 0 and cell 2. But the logs you posted later show us and error on cell 1 (CPU 0).

If the partition in which cell 1 is included is able to reach BCH you should deconfigure CPU 0 on cell 1 as a first step for troubleshooting.

So if possible attach all the Errorlogs and the Activitylogs to get a complete picture of the problem.
