Built-in LAN card for K-260

Hi,

Hope I've asked this question in the right forum.

For the life of me, I can't seem to find the hardware specifications for an old K-class 260 server (9000/879) at HP's site.

Does anyone know what speed does the built-in LAN card support? Currently it's configured only at 10Mbps and I can't seem to switch it to 100Mbps. Tried switching the speeds with lanadmin but it failed with an error 22.

ioscan info for the LAN card if it helps :

Class I H/W Path Driver S/W State H/W Type Description
===================================================================
lan 1 10/12/6 lan2 CLAIMED INTERFACE Built-in LAN
/dev/diag/lan1 /dev/ether1

Thanks.

The built in lan card is a 10Mb only. It's not letting you switch it to 100Mb because it doesn't support that speed.

If you need 100Mb speed you'll have to get either an HSC or GSC 100Mb LAN card.

For detailed system specs check out the following manual:
http://docs.hp.com/hpux/pdf/A2375-90003.pdf

The information on the built in LAN interface is on page 2-20 (Figure 2-21).

yes patrick is right.
The built in lan Card on K260/K580 supports only 10Mbps.

Re: Built-in LAN card for K-260

That era machines built in as noted is 10 BaseT. If you try lanadmin -x 0(replace 0 with actual lan number)

you will get an error saying that the hardware does not support this.

The lanadmin error is normal, I got that answer from HP software/hardware support.
