I have rp2450 servers and don't have composite port cable which gives out Console/UPS/Remote ports. Now i want to have console access so i have installed Digiport Box and configured IP address for the same.
But how do i connect this to composite port of the server to DigiBox. My digiport Box end is RJ45 and at server i have a composite port.
Can anybody give me the details of single cable used or cable diagram (25 pin mail to RJ45) in order to get access of console by telnetting the DigiBox.
Thanks in advance and awaiting for your replies.
Bharat

Re: Cable Specifications / Diagram for Composite Port
Nice to see your reply but the question is i don't have that w cable A5191-63001 (Refer page no. 7 of your PDF file). And now i want to connect my console terminal directly to the composite port. So what type of cable i need to design or do you have any cable diagram for the same.
Hope got my point. Awaiting for your reponse.
Thanks
Bharat

Re: Cable Specifications / Diagram for Composite Port
I don't have 24542G cable. Only the composite port and the terminal.
Thanks,

Re: Cable Specifications / Diagram for Composite Port
some h/w basics, rs232 communication uses pin numbers 2,3&7 for rx,tx and ground for establishing the communication.
I don't know how a digi port box looks like, but if you got a 25 pin mail connector and you could plug it behind the GSP card, the pin numbers 2,3&7 are the one which communicates with the console....
how is your console?? with male or female connection. I have a female connection on the console side....
so the ends of my cable would look something like
pin layout of cable on server side(male) ==>> pin lay out of male cable at console
2 ==> 3
3 ==> 2
7 ==> 7
with best wishes
