Cabling Cisco Router to HP-UX pci MUX
I am basically connect to a router through the MUX ( modem) connection on a HP 9000 L2000.
I have this setup now (7 years), but the cable was hand made. If I tried to use a different (new) router it will not work. Old router is flaky.
If no cable I need to Know the pins from the MUX, and the pins from the router I would need to make my own. Or web sites with information.
Thank you.

Re: Cabling Cisco Router to HP-UX pci MUX
The MUX card in a L2000 might be a J3592A (8-port MUX) or a J3593A (64-port MUX).
If it's any of those, here are the pin-out definitions:
http://docs.hp.com/en/5966-8703/ch04s03.html
If it's another type of HP MUX card, go to http://docs.hp.com and click on "I/O cards and networking software", then "Multiplexers".
Use the "ioscan" command and/or physical inspection to find out the type of the MUX card, then find the correct documentation according to the model of the MUX.

Re: Cabling Cisco Router to HP-UX pci MUX
The Card has 8 fingers (cables).
I also found out the cisco made a change to thier cable since this router was first put in 10 years ago. I will need to make a new cable
Thanks for the web sites though that will help alot. I think I will be able to get it.
