Can I add-on the B5509 PCI 100BT hba to rp7410 system - HP-UX 11i ??
If yes, where can I find the driver for that hba ??

I believe 1000BaseT is all that's available for rp7410, so no, a 100BaseT NIC will not work.

That card will not work in an rp7410, you need ot look at getting something like an A5230A 100BaseT PCI card.

Do you simply want the card to work, or do you want the card to be supported? There is a difference in HP speak


Supported, known to work -> warm fuzzies all around
Supported, not known to not work -> an HPite may be in trouble
Supported, known to not work -> an HPite is in trouble
Unsupported, known to work -> lucky today, unlucky tomorrow?
Unsupported, not known to not work -> there but for the grace of Turing

In HP-UX 11i, there was a grand reunification of 100BT drivers for 2114X-based NICs, of which the B5509 is one. The driver is "btlan" and is part of the core OS.

I would say it is likely that the NIC would work. What is not clear is whether or not the NIC would be supported in an rp7410.

Just a point of reference, the B5509BA 100
BaseT PCI Lan Adapter is in actuallity the same as the A5230A... This card will work without a problem. The driver will be loaded by the HP UX 11i Operating system.

the B5509BA part number is used when this card is sold with a workstation, and the A5230A is the part number when sold with a server.

Yes, the HBA was good working on rp7410,
and no needed driver install.
Just enable kernel driver.
