Re: Can I disable a CPU while system is up (N4000 550Mhz CPUs)
Don't think you can,
N class processor deconfiguration procedure:
--------------------------------------------
Boot or reboot the server(ctrl b then "rs") and interrupt the boot process when
prompted to hit press any key within 10 seconds. From the BCH Main Menu, enter
SER to get to the SERvice menu. The service menu command to
configure/deconfigure a processor is CPUconfig:
CPU
The server will need to be restarted with the "RESET" command for changes to
take affect.

Re: Can I disable a CPU while system is up (N4000 550Mhz CPUs)
as you will find on Elena's suggestion, iCOD software provides that functionality on HP-UX systems.
Go on http://docs.hp.com and search for iCOD.
Anyway it needs a license.
I hope this helps you.
Best regards,
Ettore

Re: Can I disable a CPU while system is up (N4000 550Mhz CPUs)
Nope - unlike Suns, there's no way to down a CPU online - although sometimes the OS will do it for you ;~))
You have to do it at the BCH.

Jeff
