Hi,
I have a RP8440 server with 3 cells of 4CPUs. I have to host 2 npars where each need to share 6CPUs from this setup. Is it possible to share 1.5 cells to one npar and balance 1.5 cells to other npar?
Thanks
Bensi

Solution
Hi Bensi,
this is not possible with "npars", but you could create one big npar with two "vpars".
Then you can assign memory, I/O and CPUs as you want and also share one cell between the two vpars.
I think Vpars is exactly what you are looking for.
See http://docs.hp.com/en/vse.html#Virtual%20Partitions
Best regards
Stefan

Re: Can I host share CPUs from 3 cells to 2 npars in RP8440 server
Hi Bensi, You can't do it that way
Assuming you are referring to the CPUs as one physical dual core CPU...
you can just add another cell board and spread your CPUs out so you have 3 CPUs on each cell giving you 2 npars with 12 cores each. You would also have to add some memory to the additional cell board.
