Re: Change CPU on rx2600

Dual core CPUs are not supported on rx2600, the max CPU available for rx2600 is CPU 1.5 GHz / 6 MB cache. If you don't have this then you can plan to upgrade the CPUs else you may have to buy a new server...

Re: Change CPU on rx2600

The CPU's are 1 Ghz an 1.5 MB Cache. I will propose the upgrade, but i'm not sure that it solves the problem.

Thank you very much.

Re: Change CPU on rx2600

While HP would very much love to sell you CPU upgrades or even a new server, you might take some profiles with the likes of Caliper and see if perhaps you can tune your application(s) a bit.

If you want an idea of the added "oomph" going to the 1.5 GHz CPUs, the SPECint2000 and/or SPECfp2000 metrics you can find for the rx2600 at www.spec.org might be of help.

If you are compiling your own applications, some of the flags used in those benchmarks migt be of help.
