Change in GSP NVRAM or GSP Battery Failure

Hi there,

I have an L2000(A5191A) that when I plug it in gives me an error saying "Change in GSP NVRAM or GSP battery failure". Also, when I do a Ctrl+B to get into the GSP under the model # it says Uninitialized. Once I change the battery it still says uninitilized and does the same things.

Is the actual GSP card bad or am I just missing a step after replacing battery??

Any ideas on how to get the model back to L2000??

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Hi,

Are you saying , it is giving the error "Change in GSP NVRAM or GSP battery failure" even after changing the battery?
It showing "model #" instead of "model L2000" ?

Do you see any errors in
GSP > sl > e
Did you try reset the GSP using
GSP > xd > r

The message "uninitialized" may occure if the GSP doesn't have any hostname.

BTW, which version of GSP firmware is installed?

Dane,

After replacing the battery you need to reconfigure the lan settings and hostname as they will be lost. This is normal.

login to gsp and change with lc command

for more info refer to this doc in the knowledge base
When accessing the GSP gets hostname uninitialized

Re: Change in GSP NVRAM or GSP Battery Failure

Actually I figured out the problem. When you have a bad battery on the GSP card every time you power up it throws that "Change in GSP NVRAM" error. Well I figured out that if you replace the battery and leave the machine on for a while it charges up the battery and the model# & Host name show up. So it just needs a little while to charge up. Thanks for your help.
