Re: Class of Servers in HP

rp24xx = A Class
rp5400 = L1000
rp5450 = L2000
rp5470 = L3000
rp7400 = N4000

The K class don't really have an equivalent in the rp family, they're much too old!

Re: Class of Servers in HP

Hi Amit,

The N-class is rp7410
the K-class was replaced by us by the N-class.
If you take a look at TPM numbers a K class could be replaced ba a rp2400 server ( old A-class, rp5400 was L class)

Re: Class of Servers in HP

hi,

N and K class servers are pre rp-series. Some N class servers i know is N4000 where it is now call rp7400. Some K class servers i know are K220,K250,K380,K460,etc which HP do not make any more.

as reply earlier to your post, do a

# model
e.g. 9000/800/N4000-65 where N is N class.

regards.

Re: Class of Servers in HP

The letter "r" stands for rack optimized, and the letter "p" stands for pa-risc. The number that flows says more about the box but pa-risc systems will always have the second numeric digit as a 4. The Integrity servers are "rx", where r=rack optimized, and x=Itanium processor. The Integrity servers will second numeric digit as a 6.
One correction is that the N-class had three versions, the A3639A (360 or 440MHz), the A3639B (up to 550MHz) and the A3639C (550 to 750MHz). The A3639C was renamed the rp7400. The rp7410 a complete redesign based on cell board technology as is used in the rp8400 and Superdome. HP has stopped using the class of server designation in marketing.
Unfortunately, the number scheme that replaced it isn't so easy to remember.
