Comparison of A500 and L1000
Hi
I need to determine the differences between an A500 and L1000 in terms of CPUs and no of disks and if there are any other important factors which are different between these two servers.
I don't have access to the L1000 so need this info at a high level.
Also, sorry if this is not the right forum, but how do I determine if I can add additional disks to either of these servers.
Thanks a mil
Emma

Re: Comparison of A500 and L1000
Hi Emma,
A500 (rp2450)
1-2 CPU PA8500 440MHz or PA8600 550MHz
RAM max 8GB
internal HDDs: max 2 x 146GB (the server is equipped with HDDs rails)
PCI slots: 4
EIA units height: 2U
L1000 (rp5400)
1-2 CPU PA8500 360MHz or 440MHz
RAM max 8GB
internal HDDs: max 4 x 146GB (HDDs require special trays, available only from HP)
PCI slots: 5
EIA units height: 7U with fixed rails, 8U with slide rails
If your concern is about no of HDDs, both servers have external SCSI connector,
so you can attach external JBODs.
Regards,
Zygmunt
