Re: Console Access

Hi Raghu,

If you have assigned any IP address to PA server's MP, you can telnet from Itanium.

Re: Console Access

Hi Raghuram,

In latest MP firmware versions ( i hv seen in Firmware Revision: 1.10 ) there is a command to " Connect to another Service Processor (MP)"

CSP: Connect to remote management processor over the LAN

This command allows the local or remote port user to connect over the MP LAN to another MP on the network. The user that launches the command is given a private connection to the other MP over the LAN. To return to the original MP, type CTRL+] to disconnect the CSP session.

Re: Console Access

Hi,

There is a small change.

The PA RISC system is not having a MP port. which is A Class(A180) server with out GSP port. It is having normal serial port. In this case how I can connect from Itanium system from the O/S level.

Thanks and Regards

Re: Console Access

With Itanium server, just connect LAN cable to MP port . Access to MP by serial and config IP for it.
With PA_RISC: A class server is required to have GSP card to enable GSP console. without it you are not able to do.

Re: Console Access

Hi,

As the A Class system dosent have a MP, you cant connect to MP by any means.

1. You can login to the MP of the itanium system.

2. MP>CO to get the console

3. login to the system

4. Telnet/rlogin to the A class system using its IP address.

Siva.

Re: Console Access

Every MP console is having an IP assigned to it. Try to login with that IP-Address and you will get MP console access. Try to contact your admin for ip-address details.
