Console/Terminal Access to HP 9000 R Series
What serial port on the HP 9000 R series servers will allow me access via Windows Hyperterm session?
Can I use tip command from Sun to connect to HP 9000 R series servers?

Re: Console/Terminal Access to HP 9000 R Series
Hi,
R-series should have a DB9 connector on the back labeled console that should be used for console access. And Yes HyperTerm will work - set for 9600/N/8/1 as that's the default serial parms for the console port.
HTH,
Jeff

Re: Console/Terminal Access to HP 9000 R Series
Here's a diagram of the rear panel layout. The console port is the upper serial connector (serial 1). The lower one is for a UPS (serial 2).
I'm not familiar with Sun stuff, so I can't comment on the tip command.
Best Regards,
Dave
