Console display is frozen from a secure shell session

Has anyone ever secure shell over to another box to perform work and then have the console not release the display back to itself? I have even booted the box thinking that it would release the monitor's display?

I have know idea how to fix this problem.
I am on rp4440; HP-UX 11.11 version

I've seen this on the rp7420.

You can't ssh into a console port, get a session, then ssh to the another console port. The only fix I found is to reset the MP, which is unplugging the box in your case.

Hi Millicent,

I have same problem with RP4440 machine, what i did is, i reset the MP ,
[testserver2] MP:CM>xd> R - Restart MP

or there is reset button back of the machine reset that for few seconds.

Unplugging the console and also reset the MP Administration both worked and reset the Console that was hung.
