Console login - wrong system name (HP11.11)

Hi,

I have changed the name of our Unix box and have gone through all the necessary procedures to change the name.

However the MP connection to CO(nsole) comes up with the old system name:

[tora04-gsp] MP> co

(Use Ctrl-B to return to MP main menu.)

DEVE76 [HP Release B.11.11]
Console Login:
- - - - - - - - - - - - Live Console - - - - - - - - - - - -

(DEVE76 should be displaying tora04)

Hope you can help.

Re: Console login - wrong system name (HP11.11)

Changing the hostname in MP is totally independent from OS configuration. you can change it as follows

You can use command 'lc' to change it.

MP:CM> lc
LC
Current LAN Configuration:
- - MAC Address :
D - DHCP Status :
I - IP Address :
M - MP Host Name :
S - Subnet Mask :
G - Gateway Address :
L - Link State :
W - Remote Serial Console Port :
- - SSH Access Port :
- - IPMI / LAN Port :

Enter parameter(s) to change, A to modify All, or [Q] to Quit: m <== Just enter m to modify MP host name.

Fantastic - the "stty +resetGSP < /dev/GSPdiag1" command worked.

Re: Console login - wrong system name (HP11.11)

your question is not clear.

I hope you are seeking help to change Unix hostname.

Then edit /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file and also put entried on /etc/hosts file.Take on e restart the server.

uname -S also can be used for time being, but permanent changes edit above mentioned files.

If you want to change MP--> hostname(system name)-->user lc command in MP prompt and M option.
