Re: D-Class Booting Problem
WARN A008 means "No bootable device found".
Either you have changed the device file of your harddisk, or else the harddisk failed.

Re: D-Class Booting Problem
Please shutdown the machine and check the boot disc connections. Try to remove the cables from the back of the disk and replug it.
Hope this will work.
If you are not using a machine for some time and if you plan to restart the machine , you may get the connection problems....
Thanks,
-Piyush.

Re: D-Class Booting Problem
boot),try using "search ipl" , which seeks for
bootable devices.Usually if there is scsi-oriented problem (like weak cable connection or
wrong scsi id) the "search" (without ipl) would not work at all.If "search" shows you the system disk but "search ipl" does not find devices with IPL/ISL - problem can be more like corrupted LIF sector of the disk (The one
that contains HPUX utility) or hardware disk problem. In case and "search ipl" works, which means the LIF sector is probably ok,you can try to boot to
the low level maintenance mode with first :
"boot pri isl" from Bootadmin console, and when
on "ISL>" prompt - "hpux -lm".Very good knowledge of LVM is suggested when working in this mode, and advised to call HP support.

Re: D-Class Booting Problem
2)Interrupt the boot process and goto ISL prompt and search for all the devices using the command "SEA"
3)If it can't find any hard disk then you may have to check the hardware connections.
4)If you find any hardisks try to boot through it using the command "BO P
5)note P
6)As the D class servers are having a glass window just infront of the Internal Disks you can see whether the activity LEDs (Lights ) are glowing are not.

Re: D-Class Booting Problem
Please ignore point number (6) as it is not applicable for D class and is for K class.
Sorry
