D270- mstm problem

I AM HAVING AN ISSUE TRYING TO PULL UP "mstm" AT THE # PROMPT TO RUN AN EXERCISE ON SOME SYSTEM DEVICES. I AM NOT SURE WHAT WOULD CAUSE THIS PROBLEM, OR WHERE I MIGHT LOOK TO FIND THE ANSWER. ANY HELP WOULD BE FANTASTIC!

What kind of issue? Are any errors displayed? What kind of terminal are you using? What is your TERM environment variable set to? What version of HP-UX? What version of Diagnostics/STM?

I LOADED HP-UX 11.00 AND ATTEMPTED TO RUN AN EXERCISE FOR SOME OF THE I/O's THROUGH MSTM. IT SHOULD'VE BEEN IN:
/usr/sbin/mstm

check you actually have the online diagnostics installed with swlist

#swlist

a base install of 11.0 doesnt automatically install them unless you select the commercial servers option at install, this will then ask for the support plus cd during installation

you may not have it installed in which case you will need to install it from the support plus cd

You don't mention which release of HP-UX you have; you can see the latest version of OnlineDiags for each release at http://www.docs.hp.com/en/diag/stm/stm_upd.htm#table

You should also apply the latest patch for the version of OnlineDiags. These currently are:

11.23 C.54.00 HWE0609 No patch
11.11 A.52.00 HWE0606 PHSS_35285
11.00 A.44.00 HWE0403 PHSS_34834

Sorry, you do mention you have 11.00. I'm not sure if the OnlineDiags was installed by default with the OS on that release (it is for 11.11 and 11.23). Regardless, you should install the current version of OnlineDiags for 11.00, since if you did install a version with the OS, it will be an out of date version anyway.
