D330t Z7649A Z7614A

I picked up a D330 off Ebay but it's not exactly what I expected. It's a D330t (Z7649A) with a Telecom Disk Array (Z7614A). This would not be a problem except for the fact that they are both DC powered!
So this raises two questions (for a start):
1: Can I easily convert these units to 60hz AC?
2: What were these units connected to before and why DC?
I have searched the web for Z7614A and have found nothing. Z7649A produced one hit on the HP home site.
Computers are just external storage for my brain.
