Re: D390 upgrades

If you have a D-390 then you are as fully upgraded from a CPU perspective. You are running a PA-8200 at 240MHz. If you have a single processor (D-390/1) then you can upgrade to a dual processor (D390/2). Maximum memory is 3GB.

The D3XX's support 5 internal disks and as many external disks/arrays as you can accomodate, provided you have enough controllers.

You can choose to run eith 64-bot or 32-bit HP-UX 11.x but only 32-bit is allowed if you need to use any EISA cards.

The latest firmware is 42.10.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: D390 upgrades

If you are willing to move to HP-UX 11.11 then I would suggest examining the new rp3410 or rp3440 as an alternative to the D390 upgrade. I don't believe that the upgrades for the D390 are available from HP anymore new, and maybe not from remarketing.
Disk drives were FWD SCSI, and new drives are not compatible with it. FWD (HVD) SCSI are not being made, so this is an issues. The new systems are much faster and maybe more cost effective than sinking more money into that old system. See:
http://www.hp.com/products1/servers/rackoptimized/rp3400_series/index.html
And configure one at:

Tomorrow is the last day you can order 11.0, so it would be best to move now to 11.11 (11i).
