Re: DIMM ERROR
You need to track down the specs on this box and check out its memory setup.

Re: DIMM ERROR
I don't believe you need to clear the PDT.
This should be done automaticaly when the system is booted and detects the new memory.
As far as I'm aware, as long as the memory DIMM has been installed correctly the system will detect the new memory. Obviously you would want to check at the boot up that it has been detected.
On the V Class it should give you a message if any memory is deconfigured at boot.
You can run xconfig from the tcsh window to check if memory was configured.
The V Class manuals will give you more info, available at
www.docs.hp.com
Cheers

Re: DIMM ERROR
if the Dimm was deconfigured by the firmware of or the diagnostics software, then you definitely have to reconfigure it manually after you replaced the Dimm.
Log on to the test station as sppuser and run xconfig . Then choose
Memory => Configure by DIMM
There you can choose the affected Memory Board. A new Window will open with a list of all Dimms and you can click on the Dimm you want to deconfigure / reconfigure.
After that you have to press the "Replace" Button in the main window to write the changes to NVRAM.
The reconfiguration will then take place after the next reset.
You also should clear the PDT after the replacement.
Best regards
Stefan
