Esteemed colleagues,
IBM bigot at my university has pointed out to management that systems engineer (me) is planning on replacing k-460's with A-500's, but IBM's page
http://www.storage.ibm.com/hardsoft/products/ess/supserver.htm
does NOT specify the A-class as one of the supported fibre-connect servers to the IBM Shark.
Are any of you running HP A500 + IBM ESS2109?
Does HP have any statement of support for this configuration?
Anxiously awaiting....

Hi,
I dont see any reason why A-class shoulnd be supported, if you are not using MC-ServiceGuard
You might have to use JNI HBA though (dont know since when it came to choose a disk bay we got HDS 9960 instaead of the ESS, but now we have both, but we havent installed any unix box to it yet (there is only a IBM mainframe connected...)
All the best
Victor
