Re: Drive is not responding

Hi,

this looks like a hardware problem. Check syslog for errors. then log a call at HP for assistance and replacing the disk.

Good luck, Emiel

Hi Olga,

Sounds to me like a call to HP is in order as that disk appears to be dead.

Re: Drive is not responding

Hi,

Again, check ioscan -fnC disk output and find out if it show 'NO_HW' in the address specified. Also you can check the disk status with 'stm' OR 'dd'.

Check the disk devices with SAM too. There will be a hardware error.

Hi,
Simply call HP to replace the Disk.

Re: Drive is not responding

Olga,

Is this is a good H/W path; Is there a disk there?; are you expecting a disk to be there?

The Support Tools Bundle (predictive/diagmond) should be upgraded, I believe there was an issue a previous version. For HP-UX 11 (B.11.00.12.07) should be the correct bundle.

Re: Drive is not responding

Olga

First fix.

Down the server and reseat the disk and all associated cables.

Then reboot and ioscan -fnC disk and see if it is found.

I hope you have a good backup of the data that was on it.
