E 45 Hard disk

I have HP 9000 E45 server with two numbers of 1 GB Hard Disks. I want to increase the disk space. Help me what all capacities are supported . HPUX version is 10.20

Re: E 45 Hard disk

hi ,

I have a machine running HPUX-10.20 with 2 * 2 GB , 1 * 9GB .

This system has a Single ended SCSI Controller. so you can go for any Seagate / XXX Single ended SCSI Disks.

While creating vg use -e option so that enough pes are created

Re: E 45 Hard disk

Remember that although any single-ended drive will work in the two storage bays for the E45, HP will only support their own drives.

What you may want to do is hang some external disk off the two HP-PB slots off the back of the E45. A single-ended card (28656A) is half-height and takes up one HP-PB slot, or you can use a Fast-Wide Differential card (28696A) which will take up both slots. Using the FWD card you can then use disk arrays and the like.

Good luck!
