E55/9000

I have one HP E55/9000. Will it run 64 bit 11.0? It was not listed on /etc/.supported_bits file. Is it an OK M/c to run 11.0 as a Sandbox?

Thanks

Joe.

Re: E55/9000

Hi Joe,

Only 11.0 32 bits is supported.

Re: E55/9000

The E-box does not have a 64-bit processor so 64-bit HP-UX is out.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: E55/9000

Hi Joe,

Nope - that *old* puppy is going to be 32 bit only. And 11i is *not* supported on it - 11.0 at best.

Re: E55/9000

HP-UX 11.11 WILL RUN on an E55, I've got it running on 3 of them. It is NOT OFFICIALLY SUPPORT by HP, but it will run.

Re: E55/9000

Even if it is free I won't take it ;o)

Here's an example of 11.11 installation on a system with a 32-bit CPU:

root@scooby # uname -a
HP-UX scooby B.11.11 U 9000/803 2016007482 unlimited-user license
root@scooby # getconf HW_CPU_SUPP_BITS
32
root@scooby # model
9000/803/D220
