EFI Console
I'm using HP Rp4440.
My OS is HP-UX 11iV1.
I need to access to EFI console for installing a firmware of FibrChannel Card (QLA2462).
Any idea about how to access to EFI?
Thanx

Re: EFI Console
I wonder Rp4440 and EFI shell !!!!
It is not applicable for PA-RISC.
if you have an Itanium server you may go to EFI with below process.
Go to console of the server.
You may please reboot the system.
Interrupt auto boot.
Select the inbuilt shell.
you will get
shell>
That is your EFI shell

Re: EFI Console
Please do remember that, Firmware installation is a critical process, if it is productions server you need to be very carefull.
If it is your FC card it is more critical.
Always take help of an expert .. better HP.

Re: EFI Console
The product number which you have given is giving as
"QLogic QMH2462 4Gb Fibre Channel HBA for c-Class BladeSystem "
I cant find any link with HP Rp4440.

Re: EFI Console
I generally default to HP doing hardware work but I've done this myself.

You can do it yourself.

Re: EFI Console
Both QLA2462 and AB378A/B are manufactured by QLogic.
We suppose it the same HW architecture but with different firmwares.
We want to change the firmware of QLA2462 so that's it can correctly work with RP4440.
Could you please tell us if that possible or not.
Thanx a lot

Re: EFI Console
Did you check to see if the RP4440 is compatible with the QLogic card?
I think you missed the point that Sooraj was making. Obviously he checked some kind of hardware compatibility matrix and did not find the RP4440 listed.
Did you check any compatibility matrix to ensure the card and the server will work together?
Not all hardware plays well together.

Rita

Re: EFI Console
I'm talking here about QLA2462 PCI-x 4Gb fiberChannel and not about QMH2462 4Gb fiberChannel.
