EISA Slot Problem on D390

Hello guys;
Yesterday I Upgrade my D390 Server From HP-UX 10.20 to 11.00 (64Bit) and I not see my lan cards (100BT/9000 EISA).
I think that the EISA bus not function at 64 bit!!!
Is my idea correct?
Can somebody signal me the solution to solve this problem?

Thanks

Hello,

Did you install the driver btlan0? You can use SAM to install this driver.

Re: EISA Slot Problem on D390

Manuel,

your idea is correct. There is no 64 bit support for Eisa bus cards. Install 32 bit version of HPUX 11.0 or buy a HSC 100 BT network card for your D-Class server.

Re: EISA Slot Problem on D390

Hi,

There is no 64 bits drivers for EISA cards.
You will have to change for an HP-PB lan card or install HP-UX 11i 32bits.

I hit the same problem with my D370 and the D390 in the office. The internal 10 BaseT card should of course still work if you really want to use 64Bit.

Re: EISA Slot Problem on D390

Becaused no EISA cards are supported in the 64-bit world, you have two options: 1) Replace your EISA LAN card(s) with HSC card(s) 2) Revert to 32-bit 11.x.

Because the maximum memory capacity of a D box is 3GB, generally 32-bit will not be much of a limitation unless you need large shared-memory segments or large amounts of dynamically allocated memory. The 32-bit code will actually run faster.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.
