EMC disk

We have an EMC disk on our data center.
I just wanted to know how to get some info regarding on the configuration of our disk storage. The label at the back of the EMC states that the model number of is 3430
with serial HK182500216. How will I know how many disk are within the storage and the memory used by the EMC.

thanks

Re: EMC disk

Hi Allan,

Unless you have the EMC Control Center SW installed on a workstation/server attached to the array and the proper FW level on the array itself, the only way to see how thw array is carved up is via the controlling laptop that should be installed inside the array itself. But generally those laptops are PW protected. You may need to contact EMC support to determine how to access it.

Re: EMC disk

Hi

EMC generally has access or control over this. You need to contact your local EMC service personnel about this. As mentioned by others here the laptop is password protected and emc only has access over it.

Re: EMC disk

EMC Symmetrix will slice and dice the disk in the array and present artificial LUNs to the server, so physical disk are not always dedicated to a particular server. EMC creates the program that controls the array, called the BIN file.
