ERROR WHEN INSTALLING HP-UX

Hi All ,
i have a problem when installing HP-UX ON a L3000 server ,
when i choose the option boot P0 to install from the cdrom , and before we arrive to the step that show me to install the HP-UX , it gives me an error that the terminal setting is not good and i have to change the settings ,
i have useb the webconsole and the hyperterminal and i have always the same problem ,
in more details , the bad display (unknown display) is at the level of (WELCOME TO THE HP-UX INSTALLATION AND RECOVERY PROCESS)
when it gives me three options Install HP-ux or run a recovery shell or advanced options ,
so what should i do because i'm not able to install the OS due to this error

Check the settings of your terminal and the console settings on your GSP.

It a little to difficult to get the proper display from the console.I would say if you have a network console IP, then connect to it from a pc/laptop.

Hi,

It is giving error because your termincal is not set.

Please set the terminal with HPUX or vt100

If old o/s is already their then

run

Export TERM=vt100 or hp

and then try.

I guess your setting in hyperterminal was "ansi". Set it to vt100 and it will work.

the problem is that i'm installing the os ,so i can not use the export commands because i do not have an instaaled system running

You should set the hyperterminal settings to "vt100"!
file->properties->settings->...

You may also use putty on the serial line.
