ERROR during lan lp spooling
Hello Cheryl -
This is a new printer that was just added.
I am not sure that this is a unix
problem either since the printer works
while I am dialed in and can print
all kinds of things to it.

Re: ERROR during lan lp spooling
I think we need a bit more information. Is the error message coming from Windows or from your HP-UX computer? Is the printer connected to the LAN? Is it an HP printer? Does the Windows PC have any problems printing? Have you added the printer to you HP-UX computer? Does the lp command work on your HP-UX computer?

Re: ERROR during lan lp spooling
The printer is an Okidata dot-matrix
attached with a parallel cable to the pc.
The printer works okay when I print
to it as the system console.
lpstat -t works okay
attached with a parallel cable to the pc.

Re: ERROR during lan lp spooling
This is a much more complicated problem. It sounds like you have a PC with a directly attached printer. You have then setup the PC to act as a Unix-style printer server (if not, then that is your problem--Windows does not act as a Unix server without changes). You then added the remote printer on your HP-UX computer, correct?
