Emulex HBA

Has anyone used Emulex HBA's on an rp7410 (or similar system)? If so, have you had any problems? How do the EMULEX HBAs compare with the Tachyon XL2 HBAs?

Re: Emulex HBA

Hi KW,

I haven't & I suspect they may not run in HP 9000 systems. But you can install it & run
ioscan -fn
to see if it's recognized. If it comes back CLAIMED then you're set. If it comes back UNCLAIMED then you'll need to load the appropriate driver to make it work. But if it comes back UNKNOWN then it's not supported.
I'd check the manufactures web-site to see if they claim they support HP-UX. If they don't, I'd pass on it.

Rgds,
Jeff

Re: Emulex HBA

these are unsupported, and I doubt you would even get the drivers for them.

Re: Emulex HBA

I have never seen them in any kind of HP support matrix . I doubt it will be supported .

Re: Emulex HBA

Hi

I have had a pair of Emulex HBA on a N4000 11i for a couple of months before I received my HP HBAs.
Nothing to say, except that they are doing their job. All you need is to insert the driver in the kernel.
