Event Logs full

Hi,

In the MP console i have checked that the Event Logs are used upto 100%. If the logs has used upto 100% then it means it wouldn't capture the logs further if any error occurs?

Kindly recommend me in this case how can i proceed next step.

Thanks!

Re: Event Logs full

Hi,

You can clear the logs and make it to 0%, logging will continue then.

In future, monitoring the alert logs, (event/chais) or system LED status, can be carried out to keep track.

Re: Event Logs full

hi,

the next step should be :

1. capture all entries and archive

( check for some abnormalilties and errors )

2. clear the log

Re: Event Logs full

Hi SS,

You may need some of the logs, like
Event Log, before clearing all:
for eg.
MP>SL>E

You may dump all of it (by pressing D)
or
to get the lastest keep pressing ENTER till the time u feel the logs are needed.

I dont think you can dump to a file; you would need to manual copy n paste; or get the output logged.

After this, go back to SL (q- quit)

and just press c and ENTER.
All logs except iLO gets cleared.

My guess this wouldn't be the best possible design. You want to capture the last bunch of entries, possibly discarding the lower severity ones first.

What model machine do you have?

Re: Event Logs full

Consider a firmware update to prevent too much meaningless logs.

BMC FW : 03.52

Hope this helps!
