Event Monitor -> Poser Unit

Hi all,

after a restart of my RP 3440 i got the following notification. This server has two power units installed.

In this notification at the beginning there is a loss of redundancy mentioned. On the other hand in the details at the end i can find "redundancy regained".

Also stm information on the system shows both power units with no problem.

As far as i understand this, there has been a problem with one of the powerunits during startup. But now both units are online and reporting no problem. Am i right or did i missunderstand something?

Kind regards

Stefan

Re: Event Monitor -> Poser Unit

Hi Stefan,

You will get a redundacy lost message when one of the power supply fails or loses power. and when the power comes back you will get the redundacny regained message. It does not mean that there is a problwm witht the power unit itself. It appears when the power itself goes off on one of the power units. If there is any problem with the power unit you will see the system light flashing amber.

Re: Event Monitor -> Poser Unit

Stefan,

make sure you have the latest firmware installed.

PDC 45.44, BMC 03.51, and MP E.03.15

patch name PF_CSTORPDC4544, PHSS_33890.depot (11.11) or PHSS_33891.depot (11.23)

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Event Monitor -> Poser Unit

As Torsten says, you should check you have the latest firmware installed; there was a known problem with version 3.50 and earlier that led to this very event getting generated in error.

Make sure you also have the latest OnlineDiags installed; again there were some minor problems with this event that were fixed.
