Fan Failure on rp 5470


Dear all,

I am getting cabinet fan failure error in console very intermitenly. But i always foung all my 6 fans ( 2 front and rear+ 4 fans on sides) working very fine.


I ran stm on systems..the information logs says like this .But as per STM there are 8 fans in the system and fan 6 is failed, But only six fans in the server.


Hardware Information for Cabinet 0

Hardware Inventory:
Cabinet Fans = 8 (1 Failure; Fan 6)
Cabinet Power Supplies = 2 (No Failures)
Cabinet I/O Bay Fans = 0
I/O Bay Power Supplies = 0

Hardware Locations:
Hardware Component Map (locations 00-31)

Please tell me why the number mis match .. from STM and actual count.

Hello,

Did you have only 2 power supply on your rp5470?

If this is the case here is the 2 fans that you mismatch...

Hi,

I have this problem on some of my rp5470 machines. The problem is in the fan monitor card which should be replaced. I had to do this on 3 computers and, according to the HP person who made this, the problem is known.
