Re: Fault BF00
BF00 is generally for "system panic", I think you should further look at /etc/shutdownlog and any crashdump saved under /var/adm/crash.

Re: Fault BF00
hardware (CPU) is a possible cause of this type of error, but there are a lot of patches that fix known software problems (in kernel drivers, network card drivers are very common) which may also cause this type of panic. The only way to find out is to call HP and let a software specialist analyze the dump. Of cause you can also try to install the newest Quality Pack Patchbundle from the Support+ CD (also downloadable from:
http://www.software.hp.com/SUPPORT_PLUS/qpk.html
) or you can search for individual patches in the ITRC with the keyword "memory protection fault" to get a list of patches related to this type of system panic. If the error never happens again after you installed the patches, you will know it was no hardware problem ;-)

Re: Fault BF00
model.
If D Class then note that FLT messages indicate a HW error and not SW and that a Data Page Memory fault can go either SW or HW.

All D Class servers have an inherent single point of failure at the disk controller and system / core I/O board.

Why don't you cannibalize and combine the two?
