Hi All,
There is a rp3440 system currently running with HP-UX 11iv1 with the FC card (model no:A9784A). Are there any procedure to upgrade the firmware of the FC card other than the driver version for PA-RISC Servers.
Thanks in advance.....
Thanks & Regards,
A.SanthanaKrishnan

Re: Firmware Upgrade of HBA in rp3440 server with HP-UX 11iv1
Why do you want to do this?
If the OS is running, the driver will "overlay" the firmware. Make sure your driver is current.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Firmware Upgrade of HBA in rp3440 server with HP-UX 11iv1
Hi Torsten,
Well the FC Card firmware upgrade was suggested by HP.
Is there any specific sequence or procedure for upgrading the firmware of HBA in PA-RISC Server.
Request you to provide me the documents which may help me a lot.
Thanks a lot.

Solution
If this was suggested by HP, you should ask them for help if needed.
Anyway, the solution is in this threads (make sure you use the correct firmware for your HBA - threads are about different cards!):
http://forums12.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1121103
http://forums11.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1052482
Basically you get the firmware file and use fcmsutil to make the update.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
