Firmware upgrade A180 befor upgrade to 11.11

Hello,

i want to update a A180 from hpux 11.00 to 11.11. In the manual the recommend to upgrade the firmware of A class servers before updating to 11.11. PHSS_25314 is recommended. But this patch is only for A400 and A500 servers. Do i have to upgrade the firmware and which patch i need ?

Hi,

the A180 box is completly different from the A400/A500 boxes. Thus, another FW is required.
The most recent FW for A180/A180C is 39.32 .

Bear in mind, that only 32bit Version of HP-UX 11i on A180 is supported (and only this will work!)

11i 32 bits is the only supported version.

So a firmware upgrade isn't mandatory on A180 to run 11.11. Or?

Hi Uli,

I would always recommend to use the most recent FW Version. Which version do you have?

you can check it with OnlinDiagnostic (STM), by doing "information" on any CPU, or offline from 'Main Menu' by typing 'in fv'.
(maybe, its also written in the header of /var/tombstones/ts99)
