GSP Commands...

Can someone lead me to the documentation for a list of GSP commands? I rarely use GSP,a nd think I need to take a look at it to see all of the errors that may have come up when a server rebooted without notice. My server is a 11.0 N-Class Server.

Thanks in advance,
Jim

Re: GSP Commands...

S.K.,

I was working with one SysAdm, and she told me to use the "Ctrl P" one time. But when looking thru some docs, I did not see any mention of the Ctrl P. This is why I asked to be directed to all of these commands, so I know and go to the source. These commands will be run from a web console...

Thanks again,
Jim

Re: GSP Commands...

S.K.,

From the list of commands, which command do I run to view the error logs? I recall running one command and it asks if I wanted to set up some kind of filter. These commands all don't look familiar to me, they look different from the commands I seen used by other SysAdm. Thanks,
Jim

Re: GSP Commands...

That would be, I believe, SL (display SPU (Service Processor Unit) Status Logs).

Re: GSP Commands...

Basically filtering allow you to "zoom" if you will to the component that you are interested in to get it's log. Without filtering (default), it'll show too many things which you need to scroll-and-scroll and it's tedious to go through the list..ok.. for example

In GSP .. say you want to look at error log..

GSP>sl
...select "e" to look at error log..
and say "y" to setup filter option..

Which Source are you interested in?
. Source 0 : No source
. Source 1 : Processor
. Source 2 : Processor cache
. Source 3 : PDH
. Source 4 : Power
. Source 5 : Fabric connector
. Source 6 : Platform
. Source 7 : Memory
. Source 8 : I/O
. Source 9 : Cell
. Source 10 : Protection domain
-> 7 (enter 7 to look at memory only)..

Which Source Detail are you interested in?
. Source Detail 0 : Unknown
. Source Detail 1 : Controller
. Source Detail 2 : Carrier
. Source Detail 3 : Bank
. Source Detail 4 : SIMM or DIMM
. Source Detail 5 : Min memory
. Source Detail 6 : Physical memory
. Source Detail 7 : User interf memory
. Source Detail 8 : Page deallocation
-> 4 (look at SIMM& DIMM)
....
eventually you'll get to ..
Which Caller Activity are you interested in?
. Caller Activity 0 : Test
. Caller Activity 1 : Initialization
. Caller Activity 2 : Operation
. Caller Activity 3 : Power on/off
. Caller Activity 4 : Monitor
. Caller Activity 5 : Config & deconfig
. Caller Activity 6 : Scan test
. Caller Activity 7 : Utility
-> 7 (choose utility to look at log ..)
....
so on .. till you get to the specific "og condition" you are looking for.

Hope this helps ..

Re: GSP Commands...

Hi,

I believe people in here like S.K.Chan and others have given you a great insight into those commands.

Don't forget to award points to them. I was also not doing it till before. But am going to follow it henceforth.

Anil
