GSP - PROBLEM DETAIL: 8 = removed from configuration

Folks,
checking my Attn: light today - I found the following entry:

ALERT LEVEL: 2 = Non-Urgent operator attention required

SOURCE: 1 = processor
SOURCE DETAIL: 1 = processor general SOURCE ID: 1
PROBLEM DETAIL: 8 = removed from configuration

CALLER ACTIVITY: 1 = test STATUS: 0
CALLER SUBACTIVITY: 62 = implementation dependent
REPORTING ENTITY TYPE: 0 = system firmware REPORTING ENTITY ID: 00

0x0000002811011620 F0000000 00000001 type 0 = Data Field Unused
0x5800082811011620 00006806 0E163937 type 11 = Timestamp 07/14/2004 22:57:55


No other apparent problems exist with the machine, so I am interested in what the interpretation of this message is:

What kind of system is it ? And what version of HPUX are you running ?

The system is a HP rp2470 running HP-UX B.11.11 U 9000/800

Chris, I will ask a forum moderator to move your question to the HP9000/server family.

I think it could be firmware related.

Hello Chris,

Most likely processor #1 is deconfigured : the processor is not active. Check with "top" how many CPU's are active. I think, only 1 will be active instead of 2.

Other error/warning messages may indicate the real cause of the problem.
