GSP Problem

When i'm trying to login to the server's console using telnet and login as root the MP> prompt occurs. Then i type in co and then ^ecf. Then the message "bumped user - root" shows up, but nothing else happens. I don't have a chance to type in any more commands.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thx in advance

Regards

Franky

Re: GSP Problem

Hi Franky,

what server model is it?

Just in case your console setting is VGA instead of serial line, you won't have the console accessible from the MP at all.

Hope this helps!

Re: GSP Problem

This system has always the console accessible from the MP.

I would try to logon to the system directly and check if any application is already using (and maybe hung) the console connection.

Hope this helps!

Re: GSP Problem

The problem seems to be that the server itself isn't running correctly - therefore i've tried to access it via GSP. Is there any way to fix this problem or do we need to reinstall it?

Re: GSP Problem

Under certain circumstances the server itself will detect a hung OS and will do a reset to resolve this situation.

Anyway, if the system is not responding at all, you will most likely see no response on the console also.

As a last resort you may consider to reset the server from the MP (rs command) and reboot.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: GSP Problem

Hi,

After the msg " Bumped user - root" Try [Ctrl + C] option OR [ctrl + \].
Are you able to see MP logs? If so try CL and see the last cosole o/p.

ps -ef |grep sh
