GSP and serial console on J6750 issues

I have a J6750 rackmounted w/o keyboard/monitor but connected to a serial terminal server. I am able to watch reboots via the serial line, but I can't get into the GSP or login onto the system through the serial console after it comes up (or while it's running). How can I set this up for remote management and to be able to login through the tty console?

Hi Jay,

System is probably set up to have the console pathed to a graphics device that is or was there and the same with the KB.
All you need to do is:

1) Determine the HW path to the serial port you have the terminal attached to
2) Reboot the system & stop the autoboot
3) At the BCH prompt type BCH>path console hw_path and BCH>path keyboard hw_path
4) Check it with BCH>path console and BCH>path keyboard

That's it.

Thanks - I'll give that a try. But one thing - does it have a GSP? I didn't see any /dev/GSP* devices configured on it.

Hi Jay,

Nope - GSP is for server class systems only.

can't set the keyboard part :

What should I use for keyboard?
