GSP connection setup

Hi

I have the GSP connection on IP 10.5.6.40
and I need some times to connect with it to recive some logs and I do i from console.
I want to be connected from my PC, not to go inside the exchange to take them.
(Telnet to GSP IP: telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection timed out)

Is any configuration needed?

So long as the console port is on the network, and the network is configured correctly, then you should be able to connect to the GSP using telnet.

Your problem is likely to be on the network.

Check the default gateway on the GSP? Do you have a route to the GSP network from your PC?

I'm not a network person, but with that IP address and netmask, is that gateway reachable?

Yep, sounds like your blocked someplace. Have you tried to telnet to the GSP from the server itself?

Hi,

Your gateway IP has to be in the same subnet (10.4.5.x). Make sure the gateway and IP configuration of GSP as well your PC.

Can you clarify:

You say (in the initial post) that the GSP IP is 10.5.6.40.

The config (LC) is that IP address is 10.4.5.40, mask 255.255.255.0, g/way 10.5.7.10

First, ensure you are trying to connect to the correct address.

Second, the netmask is wrong for that IP address and gateway. If they are correct you need a mask like 255.254.0.0

Hi

Check the network setting on the GSP, make sure the speed settings is same on the switch also, try to ping the ip from someother server/pc on the same subnet.

If your GSP is 10.5.6.40 then your gateway (router) address is wrong. Ask your network administrator to help you with the IP address, gateway and subnet mask.

firstly. You should check your network condition.
at your PC:cmd>ping 10.5.6.40
If it reply. it mean your network connection is ok.
Secondly, you check you GSP parameter by

GSP>LC

IP Address 10.4.5.40
GSP Hostanem csn1c
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Gatway 10.5.7.10
Link State Auto Negotiate
Web Console Port nr: 2023 (DEFAULT IS 2023)

if that change this port by

then reset GSP by
