Hss anyone encountered problems when performing security scans (using Nessus) against a GSP?

Re: GSP vs Nessus

Well, the traditional communication protocol of the GSPs is telnet, which can be considered a security problem unless the GSP is connected to a protected network segment.

The newer GSPs have the "secure Web console" functionality built in, but I'd prefer connecting all GSPs to a protected network as a matter of course.

And what ?
If you have problem with GSP securety :)
the only way to resolve it is GSP FW upgrade. If your GSP FW is up to date :)))
remove cables from external switch :)
keep in maind that if some one take GSP he can take root.

Re: GSP vs Nessus

Yes. We have had reports of Nessus causing GSP and MP hangs. Try excluding any GSP IP addresses from the Nessus scan in order to avoid this problem in the future. The problem is under investigation by HP but the current suspicion is that the Nessus software is behaving maliciously with the GSP/MP, and it is recommend that the customer should file a bug report against the Nessus software at http://bugs.nessus.org/.
