HP 9000/800 11.11 cannot see A6795 HBA
This server used to have an Emulex LP9802 HBA. I removed its drivers with swremove. I installed FibrChanl-00_B111112.depot, rebooted, shutdown, installed the A6795, and after booting, ioscan -f did not show the new device. I've been working for two days, pulling the card, putting it in different slots, de-installing & re-installing drivers. I'm about to re-install the 11.11 O/S. Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated?

Hi,
Did you install the patch PHKL_23626 or later before installing the driver depot?
There is a minimum firmware requirements for a specific server. In some systems, the installation of this card is limited to specific slots.
Refer following/attached docs.

Re: HP 9000/800 11.11 cannot see A6795 HBA
It was the N-class (rp7400) that could only support the A6795A in odd or even number slots. I don't remember which it was though, odd or even. Besides loading the sw driver with swinstall, you must also put it in the kernel. From 'sam' you should be able to see if the driver is In or Out of the Kernel and if it out then you need to put it In and rebuild the kernel and possibly reboot.
